Special Olympics New York – Hudson Valley Region: Created in 1972, Special Olympics New York – Hudson Valley Region, provides year-round sports training and athletic competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities residing in our local communities. Each year, the Hudson Valley Region supervises over 60 sports training programs while offering 30 athletic competitions and games for over 3,500 athletes of all ages and abilities. Athletes competing in Special Olympics are given the opportunity to become more competitive and empowered on an equal basis.
